What is Radiesse™?
Radiesse™ is an FDA approved, long lasting injectable filler used for wrinkle correction in several different areas of the face.
Radiesse™ remains soft and pliable and will take on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue so you will never look over corrected or overdone.
Radiesse™ is used world wide for soft tissue augmentation and enhancement and is easily injected with minimal recovery and no downtime. There is no
skin test required for this product, so treatment can be done the day of you consult.
What are the side effects of Radiesse™?
There are few reported side effects with use of Radiesse; however, some common injected related reactions may occur such as:
- Temporary edema (swelling)
- Mild and temporary pain/discomfort
- Mild itching at or around the injection site
- Mild and temporary bruising
These side effects generally last for a short time and are mild in nature.
Where can Radiesse™ be used?
Radiesse™ can be used in several different areas of the face such as:
- Deep smile creases around the mouth (known as the nasolabial folds)
- Marionette lines around the mouth or chin
- Vertical lip lines
- Cheek augmentation
Who should not have Radiesse™?
- Pregnant or breast feeding women
- Patients with known susceptibility to keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring
Is Radiesse permanent?
No. Treatment results are long-lasting, but not permanent. Over time the tiny calcium-based microspheres gradually break down and are safely and naturally
absorbed into your body, leaving your own newly produced collagen in their place.
How should I prepare prior to a Radiesse treatment?
Prior to treatment, avoid using aspirin, ibuprofen, St. John's Wort or high doses of Vitamin E supplements because this may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
How soon will I see a difference?
Radiesse provides immediate, visible improvement of folds and wrinkles, and provides long-lasting and beautiful results. The effects of Radiesse may last a year or more in many patients.
